Every Charge Counts

The world belongs to the Machines. One human Citadel is left, connected into the Grid.

You go out into the dark, each run out is a Charge: numbered, counted, remembered.

LAST CHARGE is a deckbuilding roguelike about spending power wisely.

Key Mechanics

1. Charge It, or Play It

You get Amps per turn and a simple choice for every card in hand:
PLAY: Pay printed cost for immediate impact.
CHARGE: Pay current level to level it up permanently for the rest of the fight.

The Catch: Charging locks the card for the rest of the turn  and eats your tempo. Will you live long enough to draw it again?

2. The Grid Is Listening

Every charge adds Trace. At 6 Trace, a Sentinel drops straight into your combat loop and the track resets, but never back to zero. Greed gives you a monster deck, but it gives the Machines a target.

3. No Hidden Math

Clear Intentions: Every Machine displays its next action and damage above its head.
Known Risks: Every route node reveals its exact threat rating before you commit.
Zero RNG: Gamble on numbers you can see.

Feature Breakdown

  • 34 Cards & 4 Keywords: Build around Grounded (honest, no-charge utility), Discharge (cash out all levels at once), Feedback (the charge IS the attack), and Conduit (charge free and quietly).
  • Adaptive Machine AI: Fight Armored Crawlers that ignore weak hits, Scanners that scale based on your last turn's charges, and Agents that copy your best cards.
  • 6 Variable Bosses: Face off against the Harvester, Arbiter, Uplink, Flywheel, Interlock, or Redactor.
  • Meta-Progression With Stakes: Spend Salvage to light up Citadel Districts (Reactor, Archive, Foundry, Shielding, Beacon). Raising district power increases global difficulty—you never get safe.
  • 3-Strike Citadel Defense: Fail 3 Charges and the Sentinels breach the wall, disabling districts on your permanent map.
  • The Final Citadel Battle: Collect 50 Salvage to unlock the endgame where Trace has no cap, waves are endless, and your remaining districts become active cards in your deck.

Platform & Accessibility

Play Anywhere: Runs directly in browser or installable as an offline PWA.
Full Controller Support: Native Mouse, Keyboard, Touch, and Gamepad controls with hot-swapping.
Accessibility First: Adaptive soundtrack, full reduced-motion mode (retains all visual cues), and scalable UI.
